Our first location was in the Georgetown South Community Center. Since 2017 we have been located in the Manassas Martin K. Alloy Branch of the Boys and Girls Club. Our program serves children in grades 5 through high school who live in the greater Manassas Area. In 2024 the Don Bosco Center became a stand-alone non-profit under the name of Light of Hope Alliance and continues its mission to serve and support families and their children to excel in academics, personal relationships, good moral character and to set goals that broaden their horizons. Our daily work focuses on academic support for these children, assisting families in need and being a bridge to help them connect with other community resources.
The Light of Hope Alliance (LOHA) is committed to provide healthy and safe activities for children, to reduce or eliminate poverty, illiteracy, illness, homelessness, and their causes principally in the Greater Prince William County area and to promote the civil, social, economic, and educational well-being of their community. The Don Bosco Center program provides an integrated program of academic support and reinforcement and character development. It incorporates healthy, safe and supervised recreational activities during the week. Other activities include family-based gatherings or outings that enrich parental involvement and personal formation.
